Wei Peng currently works at the Institute of Earth Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Research in the institute emphasizes the reactions of metalloenzymes. Metalloenzymes like particulate methane monooxygenase execute essential life sustaining reactions such as oxygen binding and oxidation of organic material to metabolically important species. Their latest publication is “Unraveling the Valence State and Reactivity of Copper Centers in Membrane-Bound Particulate Methane Monooxygenase”.
