Currently, I am Chairperson/Assistant Professor at the Department of Architecture, BUITEMS, Quetta, Pakistan. I am an architect and urban planner specialising in thermal comfort, indoor environmental quality, planning, housing and building defects. My research focuses on architecture, planning and building engineering in general and thermal comfort and building performance in particular. I have been working on specific topics, including thermal comfort, housing stock characterisation, bioclimatic design principles, energy-efficiency policies and practices, indoor environmental quality, and building performance simulation.

I worked as a registered architect in Pakistan, a housing manager in Malaysia, and as an academic and researcher in Pakistan, Malaysia and Belgium. I am Vice-Chairman of the Institute of Architects, Pakistan (IAP) Quetta Chapter; and an active member of the Pakistan Council of Architects And Town Planners (PCATP), International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) Pakistan, International Council on Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICICH), and Pakistan Institute of Interior Designers (PIID).
