Vladimír Bureš was born in Jaroměř, Czech Republic on 4th August, 1977. He received his bachelor degree in Financial Management (1999), master degree in Information Management (2001), Ph.D. in Information and Knowledge Management (2005) at the University of Hradec Králové, Czech Republic, and MBA in Global Management at the City University of Seattle, Washington, USA (2015). Currently, he works as a full professor of Systems Engineering and the head of the Department of Information Technologies at the University of Hradec Králové, Czech Republic. He has already published six books (as author or a member of the authoring team) and tens of scientific papers published in several journals or in conference proceedings. He has participated in both international and national research projects (e.g. 6th or 7th European Framework Program projects, Erasmus+). In his research he focuses on system dynamics, systems engineering, information and knowledge management, systems theory and application of ICT in various areas. Professor Bureš is a member of program committees and editorial boards of several scientific conferences and journals, respectively. He is also a member of the System Dynamics Society and the International Council on Systems Engineering.
