个人简介
My present research is at the interface between physics and biology. I study highly complex biological processes of wide interest in both basic and applied sciences. My main focus is on proteins and peptides undergoing self-assembly processes and my aim is to unravel the molecular mechanisms leading to the self-assembly and characterize the physico-chemical properties of protein aggregates. Such processes are closely related to neurodegenerative pathologies, such as Parkinson´s and Alzheimer´s diseases. Moreover, the high versatile nature of such self-assembled materials makes them ideal for exploitation in nanotechnology. I also have other interests, mainly related to protein stability in different environments, from liposomes and syntethic membranes to polymers for applications in material sciences
