Vincent Placet received the Ph.D. degree in wood science from University Henri Poincaré, Nancy, France, in 2006, and the Habilitation (Supervise Research) degree or the Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches degree in the field of composite materials from the University of Franche-Comté in 2013. In 2006, he became a Research Engineer at the Department of Applied Mechanics, FEMTO-ST Institute, Besançon, France. His main research interests are thermo-hygro-mechanical behavior of plant fibers, plant fiber composites and wooden materials, durability, fatigue tolerance, and health monitoring of composite materials and structures.
