Vida Česnuitytė

Vida Česnuitytė is a Chief Researcher at the General Jonas Žemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania, holds PhD in Social Sciences (Sociology). Over twenty years, is active participant at international and national research projects. Since 2017, she leads surveys conducted in the Lithuanian Army, that cover topics of conscription into the military service, social guarantees to military professionals, military families, and equal gender opportunities in the armed forces. V. Česnuitytė is author or co-author of over fifty scientific publications, among which four handbooks for university students, over thirty papers in peer-reviewed periodic journals, five edited books (published at Palgrave Macmillan, Emerald, etc.). She gave over thirty presentations at international and national scientific conferences, organized by the International Society of Military Sciences (ISMS), the European Research Group on Military & Society (ERGOMAS), the Research Committee 01 of the International Sociological Association (ISA-RC01). Since 2023, she has been involved as the Lithuania representative into the NATO-STO research group HFM 318 Personnel Retention in the Armed Forces.
