个人简介
RESEARCH OVERVIEW
Molecular mechanisms of chemo- and radiotherapy-induced cell death and tumor cell intrinsic resistance mechanisms.
Molecular mechanisms of microenvironment-mediated treatment resistance.
The phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase pathway as a target for the modulation of the therapy response.
Molecular mechanisms of radiation-induced pneumonitis.
Focus areas
The Institute of Cell Biology comprises 5 working groups: Molecular Cell Biology, Molecular Genetics, Molecular Developmental Biology, The BioChip Lab, and the DNA Repair Lab. Research at the Institute of Cell Biology focuses on basic academic research in the areas of cancer development and cancer treatment. All of the Institutes groups aim to shed light on the molecular mechanisms of cancer development, utilizing various methodological and thematic approaches. The ultimate goal is to provide the basis for cause-oriented clinical treatments. To this end, the Institute's employees work with state-of-the-art methods of biotechnology and molecular biology.
Fields of Research
Characterization of molecular mechanisms of stress-induced cell death in both tumor and normal tissues
Identification of mechanisms of resistance
Development of targeted strategies for the modulation of chemo and radiation sensitivity in both tumor and normal tissue cells
Analysis of normal B cell development and differentiation in humans
Study of the development of B cell lymphomas, including, but not limited to, Hodgkins lymphoma
