Varnai Veda Marija

Veda Marija Varnai, MD, PhD, scientific advisor (female); engaged in epidemiological toxicological research and regulatory toxicology. Graduated (1995) and defended PhD thesis (2002) at the School of Medicine, University of Zagreb. Employed at IMROH since 1997. Research activities: principal investigator on an ongoing research project PyrOPECh, a multidisciplinary project with international participation, funded by the Croatian Scientific Foundation (http://pyropech.imi.hr/). Previous research: allergotoxic effects of general and occupational environment; exposure to metals and their effects in pregnancy and postnatal period; 56 WoS Core Collection publications; other publications available at https://www.bib.irb.hr/pregled/znanstvenici/222620. Regulatory toxicology activities: plant protection products evaluation; a member of the Risk Assessment Committee of the European Chemicals Agency in Helsinki.
