Much of the research within the field of clinical developmental psychology is conducted with White middle-class families in USA, and little is known about other cultural groups. My program of research aims to fill this gap by understanding parenting, emotion, and youth psychopathology in the world’s most populous countries. I am also interested in understanding factors that contribute to racial/ethnic health disparities in the USA, and promoting culturally competent evidence-based health care.
