V. Flores

Vladimir Flores received his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees at the School of Medicine of the Buenos Aires University, where he is currently a professor and researcher with the Department of Cell Biology. He is currently head of the Group on Developmental Neurobiology at the Institute of Cell Biology and Neurosciences of the same department. He obtained postdoctoral training at the University of Cambridge (U.K.). He is a member of the Scientific Research Career of the National Council of Research (CONICET, Argentina). From the experimental point of view, his primary interest is in the field of the developmental neurobiology, mainly the analysis of basic developmental cell behaviors involved in the structural organization of central areas, morphogenesis, hystoarchitectoninc differentiation, and environmental-dependent changes involved in neural plasticity. He currently is the head of the Department of Biostructural Sciences at the Favaloro University. Since 1994 he has been working, with others members of Favaloro University, on designing research programs with interdisciplinary approaches in the field of the theoretical biology. He is the head of the Interdisciplinary Group in Theoretical Biology (IGTB), which aims at defining general rules to describe dynamics of operation of developmental cell behaviors as well as control mechanisms involved in the space-time organized operation of developmental cell behaviors involved in the generation of complexity that takes places during development.
