Professor Victor Diogenes Amaral da Silva is PhD in Animal Science from the Federal University of Bahia, Brazil. He did two postdoctoral internships: 1. on Neuropsychopharmacology at Universidad de La Habana-Cuba/ Drug Research and Development Center, and 2. on Neurophysiology at the University of Portsmouth - United Kingdom. He is an expert on molecular mechanisms of neurodegeneration and neuroprotection, as well as on animal models of neurodegenerative disease.
