Suayib Üstün currently works as a research group leader at the Center of Plant Molecular Biology, University of Tübingen. His research focuses on the functions of proteolytic degradation pathways (autophagy & proteasome) during plant immunity. In particular, his group is challenging the question how the interplay of protein synthesis (translation)- transport (versicle trafficking) and degradation influences plant-microbe interactions.
