Tyrone Fernando (Senior Member, IEEE) received the bachelor of engineering (with Hons.) and doctor of philosophy degrees in bioengineering from the University of Melbourne, Melbourne, VIC, Australia, in 1990 and 1996, respectively. In 1996, he joined the Department of Electrical Electronic and Computer Engineering, University of Western Australia, Perth, WA, Australia, where he is currently a Professor. His research interests include power systems, renewable energy, and control theory.
