Tofael Ahmed Sumon was born in 1990 in the Moulvibazar district of Bangladesh. He obtained his B.Sc. Fisheries (Hons.) degree in 2014 with distinction from Sylhet Agricultural University. He received his Master of Science in Fish Health Management from the same university in 2016 and received Chancellor's Award for Excellence. At present, Mr. Sumon is enrolled in the International Master of Science in Health Management in Aquaculture, an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master degree hosted by Ghent University, Belgium as well as by the University of Barcelona (UB), The Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), Polytechnic University of Barcelona (UPC), Spain and Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Norway. As an early career researcher, Mr. Sumon has authored and co-authored several articles published in renowned international journals mostly Elsevier. Mr. Sumon also received research grants from Sylhet Agricultural University Research System and the Ministry of Science and Technology, Bangladesh. His research interests are health management in aquaculture, diseases in aquaculture and immunological aspects of fish and shellfish. Now, he is working as an Assistant Professor (on study leave) at the Department of Fish Health Management in Sylhet Agricultural University.
