Tineke Annemarie Troost

Dr.ir. Tineke Troost is an expert in the field of ecological modelling. During her PhD she specialized in deterministic modelling of integrated ecosystems using the Dynamic Energy Budget (DEB) theory (a unifiying framework for modelling metabolic processes). At Deltares she has build up extensive experience in applying and developing Delft3D software to carry out impact and scenario studies in a range of marine and freshwater systems. Her focus of expertise lies with water quality issues such as harmful algal blooms and carrying capacity in fresh, coastal and estuarine areas. In addition to dynamic numerical modeling as is often used in biogeochemistry, Tineke also has in-depth knowledge of (univariate and multivariate) statistical modeling techniques that are typically used for ecological studies on higher trophic organisms, which give her the unique position to bridge these two disciplines
