I reconstruct Neogene paleolandscapes occupied by early hominins, and how our ancestors adapted to these habitats. I rely on extensive fieldwork and geochemical approaches including stable isotope data of hydrogen, carbon, nitrogen and oxygen, as well as clumped isotopes and multi-element analysis in a variety of proxy materials. I recently developed a new tool (d15N in tooth enamel) to reconstruct trophic level and with it animal resource use in Pio-Pleistocene hominins.
