Bio
The aim of my research is to extend subduction zone earthquake and tsunami records over many seismic cycles (thousands of years) in order to capture the spatial and temporal variability of the largest events and better assess hazards. To extend earthquake and tsunami records, I apply stratigraphic, sedimentary, and microfossil (diatom) methods to coastal sedimentary sequences to identify paleoenvironmental changes that signal past coseismic deformation and tsunami inundation of the coast.
