Timothy Michalski received the B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, NY, USA, in 1988, and the M.S. degree in engineering management from Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY, USA, in 2002.
In 1988, he started his professional career with RF Communications Division, Harris Corporation, as a Mechanical Engineer in the development and testing of strategic and tactical HF/VHF/UHF radio equipment. In 1998, he joined Philips Broadband Networks, as a Mechanical Project Engineer and Engineering Manager developing CATV distribution and headend equipment. In 2003, he joined BorgWarner Morse-TEC as a Project Engineer and Engineering Manager, developing engine timing drives for U.S. and international automobile manufacturers. In 2004, he joined PAR Technologies LLC (which later became AdaptivEnergy LLC) as a Project Engineer and Engineering Manager in the development of Ruggedized Laminated Piezo devices for a variety of industrial application. While there, he also assumed the role of VP of Engineering and ultimately VP/General Manager. In 2010, he joined Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility as the Engineering Division Deputy. In this role, he manages several groups and drives the engineering product development process. He has also been an Engineering Project Lead for the g2p beamline upgrade in experimental hall A, the high-power beam dump upgrades in experimental halls A and C, and the development of the Jefferson Lab Electron-Ion Collider.
