Timothy M. Kowalewski (Member, IEEE) received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Washington, Seattle, WA, USA, in 2004, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the BioRobotics lab, University of Washington, in 2011. At the University of Washington, he worked in medical simulation and surgical robotics. He is currently an Associate Professor of mechanical engineering with Mechanical Engineering Department, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN, USA, and a cofounder of two medical skill analysis companies. His research interests include medical robotics, robotic soft catheters, and human–robot interfaces.
