Thuanne Ribeiro, holds a degree in Forestry Engineering from the State University of Goiás, University Unit of Ipameri (2012). Master in Plant Production (2014), by the Stricto Sensu Graduate Program at the State University of Goiás, University Unit of Ipameri-Go, line of research in genetic resources and biodiversity, area of expertise Biotechnology and Molecular Biology. PhD in Biotechnology and Biodiversity from the graduate program at the University of Brasília (UNB), with a sandwich doctorate at the University of Pennsylvania (UPPENN-USA), in the area of plant transformation via chloroplast. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Embrapa Genetic Resources and Biotechnology, working on the development of Genetically Modified Plants for resistance to biotic and abiotic stress. The main tools/methodologies applied are: Functional genomics of insects and plants; Identification, cloning and characterization of genes from insects, plants and bacteria; Gene silencing (RNAi) in insects; Heterologous protein expression in bacteria; Functional characterization of plant promoters; Spatial and temporal determination of gene expression by means of real-time PCR. Plant genome editing using the CRISPR methodology to increase biomass and drought tolerance. Genetic transformation of plants via chloroplast using the biolistic technique. Functional characterization of plant promoters; Spatial and temporal determination of gene expression by means of real-time PCR.
