Thomas L. Polmateer

Thomas L. Polmateer received the B.A. degree in English from Canisius College, Buffalo, NY, USA, in 1974, and the M.S. degree in logistics management from the Florida Institute of Technology, Melbourne, FL, USA, in 1985. From 1974 to 1996, he was on active duty with the U.S. Army, Arlington, VA, USA, as a Field Artillery and Quartermaster Officer. From 1996 to 2013, he was on the Staff and the Faculty with the U.S. Army Force Management School, Fort Belvoir, VA, USA. He is currently the Senior Research Program Director with the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA, USA. His research interests include advanced logistics systems, container port operations, sustainable energy, supply chain risk and resilience, and hardware security and trust. Mr. Polmateer was the recipient of various awards and honors including the Society of Logistics Engineer Award, MacArthur Leadership Award, and the Valley Forge Freedom Foundation Award. He was the Distinguished Graduate with both the U.S. Army Logistics Executive Development Course and the 8” Atomic Projectile Assembly Course. His military honors include the Legion of Merit and the Bronze Star.
