Thomas V Johnson, MD, PhD is the Shelly & Alan Holt Rising Professor of Ophthalmology at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute. He is a physician-scientist who manages medical and surgical glaucoma in children and adults. He also leads a translational neuroscience laboratory focused on better understanding the pathogenesis of retinal ganglion cell death in glaucoma and on developing neuroregenerative treatments for optic neuropathy to restore vision in these potentially blinding conditions.
