Bio
He have been intimately involved in studying metabolism in human tissues, as well as animal models and other experimental systems. Dr. Ciaraldi was one of the first to demonstrate defects in basal and insulin-stimulated glucose transport in adipocytes from individuals with obesity and type 2 diabetes, as well as the Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, and have followed up by evaluating the effects of multiple therapeutic interventions, both in vivo and in vitro, on insulin action.
