His contributions include the development of Birth Date Selection Mapping, a method to identify and distinguish loci exposed to on-going, recurrent natural or artificial selection, and use of a SNP-Chip to construct the first highly-supported ruminant tree-of-life comprising 61 species including a bison extinct for 20K years. He has mentored 54 postdocs and graduate students and has authored 182 journal articles. He is internationally recognized for his leadership of community projects including the Bovine HapMap, Oligonucleotide Microarray, and SNP-Chip Consortia. n.
