I studied in India, first at the Presidency College in Calcutta and then at the Indian Institute of Technology in Kharagpur. I joined Max-Planck-Institute for Solid State Research first as a post doctoral fellow and then worked as a scientist until I moved to the Institute Laue-Langevin in Grenoble. My research activities center around magnetism and superconductivity. The experimental technique I use is elastic, quasi-elastic and inelastic neutron scattering but I use sometimes also the complementary synchrotron X-ray scattering.
