Syed Noor Muhammad Shah

I completed my undergraduate studies in botany in 2015 with honors at the University of Peshawar, Pakistan. In 2017, I obtained my M.Phil (M.S) in plant systematics and biodiversity from Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad Pakistan. Currently, I am working as senior science teacher (SST SCI 1) in Government High School Dherai Puran, District Shangla, KP, Pakistan. My research career is focused on several aspects of plant science, including the ecology, taxonomy and systematics of lower vascular plants (Pteridophytes), plant ecology, angiosperms taxonomy and systematics, biodiversity conservation and medicinal plant biodiversity. My work is also focused on desiccation-tolerant ferns and their various ecological and micro morphological adaptations. Current areas of my research include plant systematics and taxonomy, plant ecophysiology, plant ecology; adaptations of plants to the environment and changing environmental conditions, plants functional traits, plant morphology including micromorphology, anatomy and palynology, biodiversity conservation, medicinal plants, and ethnobotany. I have published 1 book, more than 35 refereed journals papers, 1 book chapter and several symposium and conferences papers.
