S. Shrestha

Dr. Shrestha is a pediatric cancer researcher with a focus on radiation therapy-related late-cardiovascular disease. He is a research fellow in the radiation physics department at MD Anderson Cancer Center. He serves as the investigator on multiple research projects funded by Childhood Cancer Survivor Study (CCSS), and other funding agencies. Dr. Shrestha has been recognized for his work by many medical associations and has subsequently been emerging as an important voice in the field of late effects of radiation therapy. He is the current Chair of Working group on communications (WGC) in the International Society of Radiation Epidemiology and Dosimetry (ISoRED). His goal is to become an independent researcher, licensed medical physicist, and tenured professor. He plans to contribute to health care reform in developing countries and is committed to producing the next generation of medical physicists and pediatric health scientists.
