Stylianos S. Sygletos received the Dipl-Ing degree in electrical and computer engineering from the National University of Athens (NTUA), Greece, in 2000 and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering, also from NTUA, in 2006. In March 2006, he joined Athens Information Technology Centre, Greece, where he worked on impairment constraint based routing and modeling of quantum dot semiconductor optical amplifiers (QD-SOAs). In 2007–2009, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher with the University of Karlsruhe, Germany, continuing his work on QD-SOAs. In 2009–2012, he worked as a Researcher with Tyndall National Institute, Cork, Ireland, in the field of Phase Sensitive Amplifiers for regeneration applications and the development of suitable optical phase locking schemes. Since 2012, he has been a Senior Research Fellow and Principal Investigator with Aston Institute of Photonics Technologies, Birmingham, U.K. He has (co)authored more than 150 publications in journals and conferences and holds 4 patents.
