Stuart S. Szigeti

Stuart Szigeti is a theoretical physicist, currently working as an Australian Research Council DECRA Fellow within the Department of Quantum Science at the Australian National University. He has extensive experience in quantum optics and quantum-atom optics, with a particular focus on ultracold atomic gases, quantum measurement and control and atom interferometry. Stuart completed his PhD in 2013 at The Australian National University (ANU). During his time at ANU, Stuart worked closely with the experimental Quantum Sensors and Atom Laser Group in the Department of Quantum Science, in the capacity of theory and computational physics support. He worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Queensland from 2013-2017, and undertook an Australia-Awards Endeavour Fellowship at the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand, in 2017. He has been working as a Research Fellow within the Department of Quantum Science since 2018. Prior to his PhD, Stuart received a Bachelor of Philosophy (Science) (Honours) from ANU in 2008, for which he was awarded a University Medal in Theoretical Physics. In 2011 he completed the Graduate Certificate in Higher Education and in 2010 received the ANU Award for Excellence in Tutoring or Demonstrating.
