I took my first steps into research in the field of natural products (in 2009, during my undergraduate years), especially in the synthesis of Leishmanicidal chromone derivatives. Once Graduated (BSc in Chemistry), I moved on to study organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry for the next 3 years, during which I was engaged in the Synthesis of pironetin analogs and the evaluation of their cytotoxic, angiogenic, and anti-telomerase activity. Also, it was during those years that I began to get involved in the computational-chemistry world (working with some very basic molecular dynamics simulations). After that (in 2015), I made a full jump into the quantum chemistry field (I started a Ph.D. in computational chemistry) to study the mechanisms and reactivity of inorganic and organometallic (catalytic and non-catalytic) substrates, focusing on the activation of C-H and C-X bonds. Then in January of 2020, I obtained my PhD. in Chemistry title ( with the honorific mention "Excellent Cum Laude").
