Professor in the School for Marine Science and Technology (SMAST) at UMass Dartmouth. SMAST is the marine campus of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. It is located on Clark's Point in the historical city of New Bedford. My current research research extends across various themes including phytoplankton ecology and physiology, biogeochemical cycling of carbon and other elements in ocean systems, and applications of optics and remote sensing to these areas of study.
