Throughout my career, my research has focused on the area of serious and potentially life-threatening hyperthermic disorders encountered in medical and psychiatric practice. Neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS) is the most familiar of this group of disorders that includes neuroleptic-induced heatstroke, serotonin syndrome, hyperthermic reactions associated with other neuropsychiatric drugs, and malignant catatonia.
