Steffen Malskær Olsen

Steffen Malskær Olsen currently works at the R&D, Danish Meteorological Institute. SMO has conducted research into the Atlantic Thermohaline Circulation, its role in the climate system, stability, predictability and linkages with the Arctic. He is involved in a number of European research initiatives on the North Atlantic marine climate and on innovation in arctic climate services (www.salienseas.com). He presently coordinates the EU H2020 project Blue-Action (www.Blue-Action.eu) on understanding and predicting the impact of a changing arctic on weather and climate including their extremes. Steffen has planned and completed a number of high-Artic oceanographic field programs and leads a participatory climate research program with indigenous peoples in NW Greenland.
