Career Trajectory
Bio
Stefano D’Amico received the Ph.D. in “Materiali e Tecnologie Innovative” from the Istituto Superiore Universitario per la Formazione Interdisciplinare (ISUFI), Lecce (Italy), in 2005. Since 2005 he joint the Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell’Innovazione, Università del Salento as post – doc researcher, where he started serving as University Researcher (staff position) in Electronics in September 2007, while he will start serving as Associate Professor in September 2015.
In 2002-2006 years he took part of the Italian research program FIRB titled “Enabling technologies for reconfigurable wireless terminals” whose aim was the design and implementation of wireless transceivers able to work with different telecommunication standards as UMTS, GSM, WLAN or Bluetooth, in 0.13um CMOS technology.
Since 2003 he collaborated with IMEC (Belgium) for the design of low power transceivers. Currently, he is still coordinating this collaboration.
In 2008-2010 years he was local responsible of the To-ASIC project funded by the Italian Institute of Nuclear Physics. The project aimed to verify the performance and the speed limits of the 90nm COMS technology for the implementation of integrated analog circuits.
He was responsible of several collaborations with industrial partners: in 2005-2006 years with RF-Domus Inc. (California) for the design of low voltage low power WLAN receivers; in 2014 with TDK-EPCOS (Denmark) for the development of electronic interface for MEMS; in 2015 with Dialog Semiconductor (UK) for the design of ultra low-voltage dc-dc converters.
Since 2007 he is responsible for the Electronics Lab of the Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell’innovazione, Università del Salento, coordinating the activity of 3 Ph.D. students and one post-doc researcher.
Today he praised a publication production made of 33 journal papers (8 of them on the IEEE JSSCC), 96 papers on proceedings of international conferences (3 of them at ISSCC), 4 patents, and 7 book chapters.
