Stefan Schmidt

Stefan Schmidt received the Ph.D. degree from the University of Freiburg, Freiburg, Germany in 2002. He is currently a Research Fellow at the Institute of Environmental Medicine and Hospital Epidemiology at the University Hospital Freiburg and is also associated with the European Office of the Samueli Institute, Corona del Mar, CA. His primary research interests include psychophysiology, especially in the area of complementary and alternative medicine and healing approaches, as well as in the application of ambulatory monitoring devices. He is currently conducting a large clinical trial on the benefits of mindfulness meditation.
