My research is dedicated to the study of the composition of the atmosphere, its evolution and interactions with climate, and of the global impact of human activities on atmospheric chemistry.
My research activities are focused on the analysis of the impact of the main emissions regions on the equilibrium of the troposphere (in particular ozone and its main precursors), with four main objectives:
1) Evaluating and improving emissions inventories using atmospheric observations
(top-down approach)
2) Improving our understanding of the long range transport of pollution :
tansport pathways and mecanisms, chemical evolution
3) Quantifying the impact on regional and hemispheric scales
4) Evaluating the relative importance of anthropogenic vs natural emissions and fires
IASI footprint
My approach consists in combining the information provided by the available observations with global modeling of atmospheric chemistry and transport.
I am particularly interested in the new vision of the Earth's atmosphere and the new observational capabilities allowed by satellite missions launched in the past few years.
