I am an organic chemist by training. My formal background includes a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in chemistry with honours and a master of science in chemistry with a specialization in organic chemistry. Subsequently, I pursued a Ph.D. in polymer chemistry, where I worked on syntheses and the characterization of triptycene-based polymers and organometallic compounds. I worked as a Research Associate (September, 2017-July 2018, at IIT Roorkee, India) on the project entitled“ Organic Materials Containing Heterocyclic Building Blocks” with a potential application in OLED. I worked as a postdoc at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China (May, 2019-April 2022, principal employer for the postdoc) and at the university of waterloo, Canada (as a visiting scientist from October 2019 to April 2022) on a project entitled “aqueous self-assembly of hydrophobic molecules”. Broad Research area: Multistep organic and organometallic synthesis, design and synthesis of smart polymeric materials, tripycece-based organic molecule design and synthesis, host-guest chemistry, selective gas absorption, fluorescence sensing, supramolecular chemistry, and living self-assembly.
