Simon A Young

My research interests are in microbiology and parasitology, investigating lipid metabolism in Trypanosoma brucei, the causative agent of Human African Trypanosomiasis with a view to identifying new drugs and drug targets. Using mass spectrometry I also perform lipidomic and metabolomic analyses on a range of organisms to investigate how they respond and protect themselves from a variety of environmental stresses.
