My research interests are in the nonlinear mechanics of the response and failure of advanced multifunctional composite materials and structures. Of particular interest is exploring the design and manufacturing of mechanical metamaterials and non-conventional composite structures applied to aerospace vehicles to control their mechanical response under harsh environments such as impact and vibration.
