Dr. Liang received his Ph.D. degree in Immunology from the University of Louisville and Master’s degree in Microbiology from Shandong University in China. Prior to joining NYU College of Dentistry as the director for the D1 Microbiology course, he had served as a faculty member at University of Louisville and Peking University in China. He has many years of teaching and directing experience in Microbiology Lab, Biotechnology Lab, Oral Immunology course, and Oral Health Seminars. Dr. Liang has investigated the oral bacterial infection-induced immune responses and inflammation. His research interests focused on the pathogenesis of oral bacteria, the homeostasis of immune cells and immune responses, and the host-pathogen interactions.
