Bio
Shriram Santhanagopalan received the Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering from the University of South Carolina, Columbia, SC, USA, in 2006.
Over the last 12 years, he has developed models, materials, and test methodology to address the performance and safety limitations of batteries with several leading battery manufacturers and vehicle original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) around the world. He was a Senior Research Scientist with Celgard, LLC, Charlotte, NC, USA, where he was responsible for performing fundamental studies of electrodes, evaluating polymers, developing new characterization tools for large-format batteries, and design of new Li-2 components for automotive batteries. He currently leads the battery materials, analysis, and diagnostics work at the Center for Integrated Mobility Sciences, National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), Golden, CO, USA. He has authored over 70 peer-reviewed articles, several books, and book chapters.
