Shanon Rego

I am currently a Post-baccalaureate Researcher (PREP) at the Mayo Clinic, where I am working under the mentorship of Dr. Sandro Da Mesquita and am researching more about the meningeal lymphatic system and how it is involved in the pathogenesis of different neurodegenerative diseases. I am a recent graduate in Cell and Molecular Biology with a minor in Public Health from the University of South Florida. Motivated by personal reasons, I sought interest in the field of neuroscience research and undertook research positions in different labs dealing with neurodegenerative disorders, more specifically Alzheimer's Disease (AD). My first position as an undergraduate researcher at an AD lab opened my eyes to the world of neuroscience research and how exciting it is to follow the scientific process. My next experience as a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic complemented my skills in neuroscience research and made me appreciate the field so much more.
