Shannon Corrigan

I am an empirical biologist that uses modern genomic approaches to study diversity and diversifying processes in natural populations of non-model organisms, particularly elasmobranch fishes. I have broad research interests that include population genomics, phylogenomics, molecular ecology, conservation biology, natural history, evolutionary biology and systematics. While my formal doctoral and postdoctoral training are in molecular systematics and genomics, my work has always been question-driven and multidisciplinary. This has involved collaboration with researchers with expertise in marine science, ecology, theoretical population genetics, taxonomy and comparative anatomy. Working collaboratively allows my research to reach beyond organismal biology, toward addressing general concepts in biodiversity, conservation and evolutionary science.
