Shambhu Kumar

Dr. Shambhu Kumar is presently working as a Senior Scientist at Forest Pathology Department of KSCSTE-Kerala Forest Research Institute, Kerala, India. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Botany (Mycology) from Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University, India. Dr. Kumar is the recipient of Fast Track Young Scientist award by SERB-DST, Government of India and worked at Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeobotany, Lucknow. He has over ten years’ research experience in diversity, systematics and ex-situ conservation of foliicolous fungi causing diseases in forests plants, where he has published over fifty five (55) research papers in peer-reviewed and reputed international and national journals. He has participated and presented papers in several international and national conferences/symposia and acquired national training on Biodiversity, Bioinformatics and Molecular taxonomy. He is life member of the International Society for Fungal Conservation (ISFC), UK, Mycological Society of India (MSI), Association of Microbiologists of India (AMI), Indian Botanical Society (IBS), Society for Basic and Applied Mycology (SBAM), National Academy of Biological Sciences (NABS), Bamboo Society of India, and Indian Science Congress Association. He is an editorial member and reviewer of various international and national journals.
