Serpil Sayın earned a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering with a double major in Mathematics at Bogaziçi University in Istanbul in 1988. In 1992, she completed her Ph.D. studies in the department of Decision and Information Sciences at the University of Florida. She worked as an assistant professor in the Faculty of Business Administration at Bilkent University until July 1996. She then joined Koç University's College of Administrative Sciences and Economics where she currently serves as a professor within the Operations and Information Systems group. Her current research interests are in multiple objective optimization, data mining, decision support and healthcare.
