Currently, he is a senior researcher in both this institute, as well as in the Far Eastern Federal University (Vladivostok). Since 2013, he works as a post-doctoral researcher at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (Hamburg, Germany) in the Department of Oncology. He is a member of the Commission of Experts of the Russian Scientific Foundation as well as a member of Editorial board of several scientific journals.

His main research interest is the investigation of mechanisms of anticancer action of novel marine compounds with a strong focus on autophagy. He has over 80 research publications. h-index: 14
