Harald G. L. Schwefel

Harald G. L. Schwefel was born in Berlin, Germany and received the Ph.D. degree in theoretical physics from Yale University, New Haven, CT, USA, in 2004. He has since worked as a Postdoctoral Associate at Yale and in Japan. Currently he is in the Department of Optics, Information and Photonics, University of Erlangen-Nürnberg, and is a Group Leader of an experimental group within the Gerd Leuchs Division, Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light in Erlangen, Germany. His current research interests are crystalline whispering gallery mode resonators, which he studies in the THz as well as in the optical domain. He is especially interested in non-linear optics and polarization within such resonators.
