My lab at the Department of Molecular Genetics at the Weizmann Institute, seeks to crack the regulatory code imposed by post-transcriptional modifications on RNA. Over 100 distinct chemical modifications are catalyzed on RNA, imposing a unique and poorly characterized regulatory code. My lab lab aims to crack this code, and understand how modifications on mRNA direct gene expression programs and cell state decisions. We address these questions by combining genomic tools with biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology and computational biology.
