Completed M.Pharm and Ph.D. in field of pharmaceutics. Having more than 13 years of teaching and research experience. Published more than 40 research and review articles. As a student of pharmaceutics, my research interest is in formulation development. During my short term exposure in research field I had tried to develop different kinds of drug delivery devices viz. Gastro retentive drug delivery, Pulsatile drug delivery, Drug delivery using natural polymers and Nano carrier based drug delivery. During my Ph.D. work, I found that Transcranial route (TCR) is a unique route to deliver CNS active molecules. TCR uses cranium and associated skin and skin appendages of the head, arteries and veins of the skin of the head, the cranial bones along with the diploe, and the cranial bone sutures for transfer of drug molecules to target brain. Presently, various new approaches, tools and techniques are being explored for brain drug delivery. It is imperative to have extensive research work and formulation development for the effective administration of drugs at the desired sites to maintain optimum concentration of drugs for prolonged periods of time. This can give an answer to various limitations of the conventional drug delivery techniques such as problems associated with the access of drugs into brain through the permeation of BBB, maintenance of optimum drug concentrations and to obtain most out of drug delivery systems.
