Bio
Dr. Louise Sauvé, (M.A., Ph.D., Educational Technologies, Université de Montréal) is a full professor in educational technologies at UER Éducation at TÉLUQ, UQAM’s online university, since 1982. As part of her responsibilities as President and Scientific Director of the Centre d’expertise et de recherche sur l’apprentisage à vie (SAVIE), Louise manages multi-disciplinary and inter-institutional teams for which she has received major grants and research contracts.
As an accomplished senior researcher, she has received numerous awards, in particular, the Excellence and Innovation Award for Teaching Technologies (2008), the Quebec National Assembly Medal (2006), an award from the Quebec Ministry of Education for her contribution to education in Quebec society (2006), a Certificate of Honour from RÉFAD (2006), a Citation from the Ministry of Education’s Award for Teaching (2005), the Award for Research Excellence (2000), and the Philippe-Marton Award (1997).
Dr. Sauvé has led more than 250 presentations and workshops nationally and internationally, established approximately 20 university distance education courses, and published more than 160 summaries and articles in six different languages, approximately 60 research reports, and 13 collections. She has created more than a dozen online learning environments. Her research interests and expertise in online education and the information highway include games and simulations, systems for personalized online help and retention, adapting learning in the workplace, the creation of methods for interactive multimedia environments, and synchronous and asynchronous tools. In 2010, Dr. Sauvé co-published with D. Kaufman two works: Jeux éducatifs et simulations: etudes de cas et leçons apprises (PUQ) and Educational Gameplay and Simulations Environments: Case Studies and Lessons Learned (IGI Global). She has also co-published a book chapter with W.A. Wright : Personalized Learning for Online Training: A decade of Francophone Research. In Willment, J-A H. (2008). Learners in Midlife. Graduate Education and Workplaces in Canada.
